UGA football junior quarterback Carson Beck and true freshman place-kicker Peyton Woodring have each been named Co-SEC Players of the Week, the SEC announced on Monday.

Beck, who hails from Jacksonville, Fla., was named the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Bulldogs to a 51-13 home victory over the 20th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats. Beck completed 28-of-35 passes for 389 yards and four touchdowns.

Here’s more on Beck from the UGA release:

He connected on his first 13 passes (158 yards, two touchdowns), which ranks third in school history.  Beck became the first Bulldog quarterback since 2013 (Aaron Murray) to have three consecutive 300+ yard passing games.  He spurred the offense to tally 608 total yards (first 600-plus yard game for UGA since 2020) on the way to top-ranked Georgia’s sixth win in a row this season.

Peyton Woodring, a native of Lafayette, La., was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week following his performance in the victory over the Wildcats. Woodring connected on all three of his field goal attempts, including a career-long 42-yarder, and he also went 6-for-6 on point-after-attempts.

Here’s more on Woodring from UGA:

Woodring becomes the Bulldogs’ first two-time winner of this award in a season since Brock Bowers in 2021.  The last Georgia player to win this award in back-to-back weeks was Nick Chubb in 2014.  In fact, Chubb won the award in consecutive weeks following wins over Vanderbilt and Missouri before collecting the honor three straight weeks after wins over Kentucky, Auburn and Charleston Southern.

The Bulldogs’ next game is on Saturday, Oct. 14 on the road against the Vanderbilt Commodores at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. The game will be televised by CBS at 12:00pm ET (Buy Tickets).
