Georgia clings to top spot in college football rankings after Vanderbilt win

The Georgia Bulldogs, who defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 37-20 on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn., have remained atop the college football rankings for Week 8.

Georgia received 1,541 points in the AP Poll, which is 18 less than they received last week. The Bulldogs lost seven first-place votes and are now down to 43. Michigan (7-0), Ohio State (6-0), Florida State (6-0), and Washington (6-0) round out the top five in the AP Poll.

In the Coaches Poll, the Bulldogs received 1,590 points, which is seven points less than last week. Georgia lost three first-place votes and now has 58, with the remaining votes going to Michigan (4), Ohio State (1), and Oklahoma (1).

The Bulldogs’ next game is on Saturday, Oct. 28 against the Florida Gators at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. The game will be televised by CBS at 3:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
