Ladd McConkey named SEC Offensive Player of the Week

UGA football junior wide receiver Ladd McConkey has been named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week, the SEC announced on Monday.

Ladd McConkey, a native of Chatsworth, Ga., was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in the 43-20 victory over the Florida Gators on Saturday in Jacksonville, Fla. McConkey caught six passes for 135 yards and one touchdown.

From the UGA release:

This marks the seventh SEC weekly honors for the Bulldogs this season.  Junior center Sedrick Van Pran was named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week on Sept. 18 for Georgia’s first weekly honor this season. Junior linebacker Smael Mondon (Defensive Player) and freshman place-kicker Peyton Woodring (Freshman) earned the honors after the road win over Auburn.  Woodring was again named the league’s Co-Freshman after the win over No. 20 Kentucky while junior quarterback Carson Beck was the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.  Woodring won his third straight Freshman honor after the win at Vanderbilt.

The Bulldogs’ next game is on Saturday, Nov. 4 against the 14th-ranked Missouri Tigers at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by CBS at 3:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
